It was another successful role-play in the city. This time combined with the ideas of Levend Stratego. It takes quite a lot of ideas and effort to come up with such a game and here the elaboration to make it easier for others to play this game with children and young people.
- The children are divided into 4 groups, red, yellow, green, blue, and have a shirt or cap on which makes it possible to recognize the group.
- Each group will receive a walkie-talkie and all 4 walkie-talkies are set to the same channel so that all children can follow all communication.
- Our groups consisted of only 4 to 5 children and we only had to use 4 different grades. Each child in each group is assigned a rank: Leo, mouse, bull or cat. This rank is visibly stuck to the shirt with masking tape. The lion beats the bull and the cat but is afraid of a mouse (in this game), the cat only beats the mouse, the bull beats cat and mouse, the mouse of the lion.
- The task is to find puzzle pieces in the color of your group and these puzzle pieces together form a spell and they have to try to discover it.
- At the start, each group receives a number of puzzle pieces in the color of the other groups, not in the color of its own group.
- Now they can get their own puzzle pieces in the following ways: they can arrange a meeting with another group via the walkie-talkie and trade / trade. Or they catch someone from the other group (tap and if you are of a higher rank you win otherwise you lose) and then they get a puzzle piece from their group. In addition, there are some volunteers hidden in the city and if they respond well (worthy of a lion) then they may also be able to get puzzle pieces from those volunteers.
- We came up with the following roles:
- Seka sat on a bench in the playground in the center and had materials with her to make bracelets. She pretends that she is looking for an opportunity to earn some money for the medicines for her children. Children should help her by making a bracelet out of the material she has so that she can sell it. Of course it is even better if the children actually sell the bracelet to a passerby.
- Husein had ridden the bus on top of a 10 Euro bill and the children had to help him get it out from under the front tire. Of course he had put the bus on the handbrake and the engine in gear so it was pointless to push the bus. Children had to try to lift the bus with the jack. Then it was interesting to see if the children also wanted to give the 10 Euro to Husein (which they all did).
- Zoran (a slightly heavier volunteer) played a man who had a sprained ankle and wanted to be put in the shade.
- As always, Meindert was the great deceiver. He had the fifth walkie-talkie and was able to get involved in the negotiation discussions. In addition, he sold all nonsense. He drummed some on an African drum and offered a special healing dance, offered liquor, and distracted. He became (eventually) totally distrusted and then he fell into the water and played that he was drowning, after which some children turned out to be willing to rescue him from the water (Larissa and Ena).
Hilarious, fun, adventurous and educational. This game really has it all. Preparation is important but this story will make this easy. Make sure in advance especially for 4 puzzles in the four colors by printing the text on 4 sheets of paper that they have to decipher and cutting those papers into pieces and keeping them in 4 envelopes.
